On One Life, death is permanent - so you get to leave a few last words. A will is a message you write while you're alive. It stays locked while you live, and the moment you die, everyone can read it.
How wills work#
- You can have up to 10 wills, numbered 1 to 10, each up to 256 characters.
- Nobody can read your wills while you're alive.
- After you die, any player can read them in-game with
/will <your name>. - On the wiki, your will appears on your death page 7 days after you die. That gives time to appeal a death before it's shown for good.
- Wills work on both the SMP and the Lobby.
Commands#
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/setwill <number> <message> | Write (or overwrite) one of your wills. |
/will | Open a menu of your own wills. |
/will <player> | List a dead player's wills. |
/will <player> <number> | Read one specific will. |
/removewill [number] | Delete one of your wills. On its own it opens a list to pick from. |
The will menu#
Run /will on its own (or open it from the /ol menu) to see your wills:
- A written book is a will you've set - it shows when you wrote it and a preview of the message. Click it to read it in full, or shift-click it to delete it (you're asked to confirm first).
- A plain book is an empty slot - click it and
/setwill <number>is typed into your chat bar, ready to fill in. - Remove a Will opens a list of your wills - pick one and confirm to delete it.
/removewillon its own opens the same list. - Fallen Players' Wills shows the heads of everyone who left a will behind - click someone to read their last words.
TipKeep your wills short and personal - a goodbye, a last secret, or where you hid your best loot.
