How to Make a Suggestion

Got an idea that would make One Life Hardcore SMP even better? Or feedback on something that's already here? This is the place for it! Every suggestion gets its own page in Suggestions & Feedback, so other players can read it, rate it and comment on it, and the staff team can see what the community wants.

Before You Start#

  • Log in to your website account and make sure your email is verified. You need both to create wiki pages.
  • Search first. Use the wiki search bar to check whether someone already suggested your idea. If they did, add your thoughts in the comments or press Helpful on their page instead of making a second one.
  • Bug or problem? That's not a suggestion: open a ticket instead, so the staff team can fix it quickly.

Making Your Suggestion#

  1. Press New page at the top of the wiki.
  2. Give it a clear title that starts with Suggestion:, for example Suggestion: Seasonal end-of-month events. For feedback, start with Feedback: instead.
  3. Pick Suggestions & Feedback as the category.
  4. Write your suggestion using the template below.
  5. Press Save. Your page is live straight away.

The Template#

Copy this into your page and fill it in:

## What's the idea?
Explain your suggestion in one or two sentences.

## Why would it make the server better?
Who would it help, and what problem does it solve?

## How would it work?
The details: commands, items, how often, any limits.

## Any downsides?
Could it be abused, cause lag or make the server easier than it should be?
💡 The best suggestions are specific. "Add more events" is hard to act on; "A monthly build contest with a theme picked by vote" is something we can actually plan.

Giving Feedback on Other Suggestions#

  • Press Helpful at the bottom of a page if you like the idea. It helps the staff team see which ideas are popular.
  • Leave a comment with your thoughts, improvements or concerns.
  • Want to improve a suggestion? You can edit it, but keep the original idea intact and explain your change in the edit note.

A Few Rules#

  • One idea per page. Got three ideas? Make three pages.
  • Keep it respectful. Disagreeing is fine, attacking people isn't. The server rules apply on the wiki too.
  • No pay-to-win suggestions. Supporter ranks stay cosmetic and quality-of-life only.
  • Not every idea will be added, but every one gets read. One Life Hardcore is a hardcore server, so ideas that make survival trivial probably won't make it in.
